I really like this part of The Forks, where you swing around and meet up with the Pedestrian Bridge portion of the Provencher Paired Bridges Project. The entire structure is a cable stayed construction and the central pavilion structure is unique to bridges I am aware of in Canada, at least. The piling for the second bridge - the vehiclar portion of the project, is visible to the left of the pedestrian piling. Ultimately, this structure links The Forks with the St. Boniface French Quarter, making a cultural connection between the two unique communities. |
